Remember - our spys are everywhere - so better to own up and pay your £2!!

Your chance for fame and glory - or perhaps more appropriately, mud and a sore ego. There is a £2 fine per fall which will go into a kitty for the quarry supper at the end of the season. The person with the highest number of falls will receive a prize (possibly a pair of sticky bum breeches or a riding lesson).

There will also be a prize for the most spectacular fall - and perhaps, the best confession

Madam

I write to protest in the strongest terms about my very low ranking in the Fallers' Club league table.  You will see I managed to notch up one fall at the Opening Meet, the day Mickey Few went for the record, and have not been out since.  This is not for want of trying but, unfortunately, my mare has had a sinus problem since the week after the Opening Meet causing me to be number one client at my local veterinary practice, and not much else.

However, the fact remains that I have a 100% fall rate and yet I languish low in the league table amongst people who come out a lot and fall off hardly at all!  It really is most unfair.  Given my recent vet bills how else am I to afford a new pair of breeches (sticky bum or otherwise) for next season?  I demand an enquiry.  My fall was not elegant nor spectacular nor indeed painful, for which I am thankful.  Indeed it was not even witnessed. But it was bonafide and duly paid up.  Who else in the league can claim a 100% daily fall rate?

Yours sincerely,

Soap Sud.

REPLY: Dear Katrina. We are sorry that you feel so aggrieved! We will refer your complaint on to the relevant authorities but would suggest that one way to acquire those sticky bum breeches is to borrow the horse Mickey rode for one meet!!

A Message from Paul Blagg:

Thank you everyone who helped me today (at Street Farm). Whilst accidents will happen no one expects to have a fall like I did with such an outcome.

As always the field rallied to someone in trouble and it makes me very proud to be a member of the Coakham. The vet was fist class as well!

The poor old chap travelled home well and is as comfortable as we can expect, on my part, 5 minutes to climb a flight of stairs, with assistance from Linz, so things can’t be to bad!!

We are grateful to everyone.

Best wishes, Paul & Lindsay
