Bassett's Manor
A large field turned out for Bassets Manor on a still, overcast day. There was lots of jumping for everyone, with Phil leading us over the hedges, and two new entrants into the Fallers Club - Cass Thornburrow tumbled at the second to last hedge on the second line, while James Ramus's horse caught the holly hedge on the last line. Despite his valiant attempts to hang on, he slid down under the horse, who stood like a rock once he knew James was there. Once James was out from under, the horse then took off to finish the line with hounds - Nic says he just pulled up and stood, like the seasoned old hunter he is!.
The third hunt was notable for the field going the wrong way and getting wired up, ending up enjoying a leisurely hack through the woods, and only Nic was up with his hounds.
If anyone ever has trouble sleeping ask Master Nigel if counting sheep really works.
